Tanzania photo tour by Katikati Tour & Safaris, from the homeland of Kilimanjaro, traveling to Arusha as getting closer to Hadza, Maasai, and Mbulu Communities in Karatu, Safari to Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. This cultural photography tour will focus on live living photography in some ethnic tribes like Maasai Tribes, Hadzabe tribe, Datoga, Local Swahili people in the streets, Mbulu tribes and more.
Our safaris in Tanzania offer an opportunity to explore the country’s incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes. We specialize in private safaris, which means you have a 4×4 Landcruiser or jeep all to yourselves. Your Arrival in Tanzania;

You are welcome to the Peace land of Tanzania, upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro, we will pick you and transfer to Moshi town for overnight. We will recommend short City tours in Moshi town depending on your arrival time. Possible to go one the building roof to capture the view of Kilimanjaro Mountain if not covered with clouds. Overnight in Moshi (HB)

Day 2: Driving To West Kilimanjaro.

Our cultural and lifestyle photography tour starts from Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, taking 3 hours drives to Western Kilimanjaro via Sanya Juu, arriving at the village around noon. Meet Maasai people on the deck of Kilimanjaro. After lunch, Visit the Village with the local market in there. Having shot of Maasai Family and warriors. Overnight in the lodge in West Kilimanjaro. Day 3: West Kilimanjaro – Arusha

Early morning photography on the base of Kilimanjaro Mountain with Maasai, After breakfast, carry up our accessories and trek up on a small hill with our Maasai Crew. In the evening, we take a drive to Moshi for rest, dinner and overnight. Overnight in Arusha (HB)

Day 4: Drive To Munduli Juu Villages

Munduli is the district next to Arusha town, it will take us 1hr drive to reach there. We will make stops along the beautifully landscapes on the way, our main stop at interior Maasai village right from their Breakfast time, visiting the family in the village, meet the Maasai Warriors, dancing and their best time on when are slaughtering Goat and making Nyama Choma round the Fire. It’s completely natural to be with this community. In the Afternoon we will escort Masai Women with Donkeys on fetching water, and capture a lot of nature and landscapes. Camping in the Village (FB)

Day 5: Full Day Lake Natron Village

After possible morning photography in the village, depart for Lake Natron with a stop at Engaruka Maasai Village for more portraits, more photography at Shimo La Mungu (small volcanic crater) then heading to the Lake Natron Village. Overnight in the Village (FB)

Day 6: Full Day Lake Natron Village

In the morning going to Enkai belief with Elders and Warriors. Visiting the Maasai weekly market, in the afternoon walking back to camp for lunch, after a few hours of resting drive to the lake shore for evening photography with Maasai Warriors. Overnight in the Village (FB)

Day 7: Lake Natron Village

Early morning wakes up, before breakfast drive a short distance to the lake for sunrise, Flamingo shots and the mountain of God (Oldonyo Lengai), thereafter drive back to the Camp for breakfast. We will take a short tour to a sideway along the mountain, capturing the scape of the mountain and the village. We will be able to take a drive for scenic views. Overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp (FB)

Day 8: Drive To Karatu Via Mto Wa Mbu Village

Depart from the village after breakfast for a transfer to Karatu small town, you will arrive in Karatu in the afternoon with a chance to take a walk in town for any possible lifestyle and street photography. Overnight in Karatu (FB)

Day 9: Wildlife Safari In Ngorongoro Crater.

Early morning drive to the village, for sunrise shots with Maasai Warriors, set up for a breakfast in the Maasai boma. Depart for Lake Eyasi in the evening, driving in the village for sunset from Datoga farms. Overnight in the Village (FB)

Day 10: Visit Hadzabe People, Datoga.

  • Sunrise shoots with Hadza,
  • Shoots in Hadza Village, families and when hunting.
  • Sunset shoots with Hadza

Early morning drives to Hadzabe Village. Hunting with Hadzabe people, visiting Datoga people and learning their lifestyle.

Visiting them is like a movie, Hazabe is hunting and gathering, growing their families to be active in the jangle, Datogas are good farmers, they are growing onions, maize, and other crops.

Overnight in the Village (FB) 

Day 11: Photography with Hadzabe – Drive to Mto Wa Mbu Village

In the morning depart from the lodge, pass at Hadza village and leave with 3-4 Hadza warriors to a special location, in the area will leave the vehicle on the road way and take a walk for about 15 minutes in the bush. In the afternoon, will go for lunch and then depart for Mto wa Mbu Village for an evening walk in the Village, a chance at the local market and street photography. Overnight in the Mto wa Mbu.

Day 12: Lake Manyara National Park – Transfer To Airport.

Depart after breakfast for the game drives in the Lake Manyara National Park, here you will have another taste of a wildlife safari in Tanzania, then after lunch you will be driving to the Airport for your outbound flight. End of Cultural and Lifestyle Photography tour in Tanzania.
