Climbing Kilimanjaro via the Rongai Route is a unique and rewarding experience! Starting from the remote northern side of the mountain near the Kenyan border, the Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north. It’s known for its quieter paths, offering a peaceful and less crowded alternative to the more popular routes. As you ascend, you’ll experience stunning views of both the Kenyan plains and the rugged landscape of Kilimanjaro, with a gradual climb that helps with acclimatization.
You’ll be accompanied by a professional team of guides, porters, and a cook, who will ensure your safety, comfort, and enjoyment throughout the journey. Our crew will conduct daily health checks every morning and evening to monitor your condition and ensure you’re ready for each stage of the climb. Meanwhile, our cook will prepare nutritious and delicious meals to keep your energy up for the ascent. If you’d like, we can send you the menu in advance so you know what to expect.
The Rongai Route is considered less challenging in terms of terrain, but it’s still an adventure. You’ll rest in high-quality tents each night, ensuring you’re well-rested for the next day’s trek. Many climbers appreciate the solitude and unique perspective that the Rongai Route offers, making it a memorable way to reach Uhuru Peak. Once you confirm your booking, we’ll provide a comprehensive preparation guide to help you get ready for the journey.
